![]() ![]() It just assumes your part center is the geometric center of the component body layer. TL DR Altium doesn't actually know (or care) what a component is. Now you can of course use RefX/RefY instead for a user-defined center, but that's still a problem you only have one. ![]() ![]() This center is what Altium uses for pick-and-place data generation. If you make a footprint that embeds multiple instances of a component, Altium will of course have no problem working with this in the PCBDoc however you'll notice that when you look at the part center, it's the geometric X/Y midpoint of the entire component body layer's span. The problem isn't just the BOM, but also the spacial coordination. They are arranged in a 2x5 0.1" grid, and are each their own component. We use these machined pin receptacles in a product to have a zero-clearance connection to a daughterboard. ![]()
